Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was established in Portland, Oregon in 1943. They began as a small machine shop at first hiring four individuals. Sales for their initial year of operation amounted to about sixty thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless steel valves, pipe fittings and different parts. Throughout five years of operation, the business had expanded to 40 employees and their yearly sales volume had risen to 330 thousand dollars. Now, Cascade is among the top worldwide makers in the material handling industry.
Design and manufacturing of the company's initial hydraulic cylinder allowed this new business to aggressively pursue better business possibilities. Throughout the final 60 years, the trade of material handling has developed into a really sophisticated area with Cascade proudly playing a part in its progress. Cascade at the moment continues to develop as the premier supplier of lift truck attachments and various associated products. The business feels confident in their potential to be able to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding buyer's needs in the future and remaining competitive in the international market.
Throughout the nineteen fifties, Cascade began to manufacture, design, and sell its hydraulic attachments. A new facility was constructed in the year 1956, in order to accommodate all the plant operations and offices in Portland, Oregon, which remains to be the company's present center of operations. Subsequent to 15 years of business, total employees reached a hundred and eighty employees and sales had reached almost two million three hundred thousand dollars.
The next production plant was built in 1959 in Springfield, Brownsville. The year 1960 marked Cascade's initial move into the global world of the material handling industry as the company recognized interest in England, Australia, and the Netherlands.
The company altered its name to Cascade Corporation in 1964. In 1965, Cascade went public with an initial offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. The company has expanded its production plants within the U.S. with locations in Springfield, Brownsville, Warner Robins, Georgia, Portland, Oregon. Cascade products are manufactured internationally due to a lot of subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a new facility was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European command center. This facility is designed to be the ultimate customer support centre.
Continuing to develop, Cascade expanded their product offering further in the year 1996 and the year 1997 with the remarkable acquisition of five firms, together with the international leader in blades, the Kenhar Corporation.
